About
The City of Redlands Sustainable Mobility Plan (SMP) is our City’s effort to promote citywide walking, biking, and transit connections for all residents, including communities that currently have limited access and choices. The SMP will outline a strategy that includes balancing street design for use by people, cars, cyclists, children, seniors, and bus/rail users.
The Sustainable Mobility Plan will coordinate with other City plans such as the Bicycle Master Plan, the Orange Blossom Trail Plan, related work completed on the draft Transit Villages Specific Plan, and will help to implement the environmental goals in the Climate Action Plan. The team preparing the Sustainable Mobility Plan is also coordinating with San Bernardino County Transportation Agency to consider their draft Transit Rail Stations Accessibility Plan, as well as with Omnitrans.
The SMP is funded by the Sustainable Planning Grant provided by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG).
Please explore this website to learn more about the SMP, use the interactive map to highlight preferred routes and barriers, and take our survey to help us understand your vision for sustainable mobility in Redlands.

Active Transportation Counting Workshop
The City is recruiting Community Based Organizations and volunteers to conduct bicycle and pedestrian counts at strategic locations throughout Redlands in order to develop a more nuanced understanding of existing active transportation patterns. Count data captured will be incorporated into the SMP, helping with the identification of routes, project prioritization, and securing competitive implementation funding.
If you are interested in volunteering your time, attending the workshop and assisting with counts, please email RedlandsMobility@Altaplanning.com.
Documents
As the planning process moves along, we will publish materials including presentations, display boards, draft plan elements, and the final plan document here on the website for your review.
